The World on the Brink

By: Tom Kerry

Finally, and for the first time this year, we have ink and paper, actually; toner and copy paper. It has taken months to obtain what a simple phone call would have accomplished just last year. It appears, this will be the new norm for the world in which we live in today. The world has definitely changed. I wanted to begin this first Quarterly of the year by thanking all of you for your support and patience. We were told of the famine of the Word, but this has taken on the realization of that scripture.

As I began to work on the Quarterly, I contemplated on where to focus the core of this issue. There are so many things going on today that you almost don't know where to start. The phrase that kept running through my mind was "The World on the Brink." It's nothing new or earthshaking as a title phrase, but it does capture the time in which we live. I typed that phrase into the computer, and I couldn't believe the volumes of articles that surfaced which included parts of that phrase. "Civilizations and natural world on the brink of collapse?" "Is American democracy on the brink of collapse?" "How do we save a world on the brink of collapse," "Our planet is on the brink of collapse," "Afghanistan on the brink," "Lebanon on the brink," "Financial markets on the brink of collapse," supply chains on the brink of collapse," and the list goes on and on.

The truth is, the world is on the brink in almost every aspect and is rapidly approaching a tipping point. It's actually a wonder we haven't crossed that line so far. Luke 21 :25 tells us, "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring." The word "perplexity" in that verse comes from the Greek word which means; no solution, or no way out. The general meaning is that the world is going to place itself into a position of such trauma and disaster, that it will not be able to solve its own problems. This is where we find ourselves today. We are on the brink of that perplexity; no way to resolve the problems of the world.

Not since the end of WWII have we had such stress on the world as we have today.

Many world government leaders and military leaders alike are all sounding the alarm that they are concerned that we will take that next step into launching WWill. If we launch WWIII, then it would also advance us into the next nuclear war. In short, we are on the brink of an Armageddon scenario.

God told us in the pages of His Word that at the end of days these things will happen.

Matthew 24, Luke 21, Daniel, and Revelation all warn of these days. Many of the prophets cried aloud thousands of years ago of this time. It's hard to wrap our minds around the reality that we are living in those days. I believe we are. When we see events taking place before our very eyes, events you cannot make up, how can anyone deny that the events are real? Denying what our eyes show us, or not listening to what our ears are hearing, cannot make them go away. The warnings are real, and the times in which we live today are also real. We are living in the time of prophecies becoming current events.

God has called us and is preparing us for the next few years that are ahead of us.

Denying them, or claiming we've always said that, will not make them go away. When Christ returns, we are told the church will be in two categories. Matt 25:32-34 "And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."

For God's called out ones, there are only two choices: One, "the church is asleep," and the other, "the bride has made herself ready." What camp do you find yourself in? Let's all strive that we may be in the camp that is "blessed of the Father."
